2022 Lifestyle Change & Calorie Counting Plan Week 4 Check-in

4 weeks (29 days) on track with my calorie counting and lifestyle change plan and I’ve officially earned my 1st tank top (that I’m wearing) of the year.

In 2022 I switched from tracking every 4 weeks and then having one day off to eat whatever to a more strict plan with no “days off” because that ended up leading to binging. I started out with a plan that focused on a healthy moderate carbs with 2-3 meals a day, no snacks, no cheating, calorie counting and keeping an eye on macros.

Now that I’m 4-weeks in I am changing the plan from Stage 1 which was “no cheat” to Stage 2 which is “there’s no such thing as cheating and everything is allowed in moderation” because I want a sustainable lifestyle and not a strict diet and I can’t see being this strict as a sustainable lifestyle for myself. I will continue to focus on healthy foods 80-90% of the time but will allow others in the last 10-20%.

So in the last 4 weeks I lost 8.1 lbs and 7.5 inches across my body. A lot of that was from the first week’s water weight loss so I definitely don’t expect that kind of number every time. As of today I’m down to 177.4 lbs which puts me at 52.8 lbs lost since my starting date of June 2015 and I’m now 19.8 lbs away from my lowest weight of 157.6 lbs in May of 2018.

I have been keeping up with my New Year resolutions which were to stick with my weight-loss plan, hit a minimum of 5,000 steps every day and meditate for 10 minutes a day.

My lifestyle change plan focuses on 1200-1225 calories a day with 2-3 meals, no snacks and keeping an eye on macros as well as at least 5,000 steps a day. I’ll be weighing in weekly and taking progress photos and measurements every 30 days with a new tank top or whatever else I might pick as a reward.
