A New Beginning...

Three weeks on my current eating plan and, I don't know, something feels off. I’m tired, sluggish and constantly feel unhealthy and after three weeks I'm starting to think it's the unhealthy white flours and sugars that still find their way into my daily meals so it’s time to get things back under control and go to a plan where I know I feel good.

The goal is to get rid of most simple carbs and sugars, refined carbs and grains and processed food and focus on healthy low/moderate carb healthy foods. I want to keep it around 100 grabs of carbs a day but allow some days to go higher (up to 150 grabs) because I want to leave room for some fruit and higher carb veggies.

The new plan will focus on 1200-1250 calories a day (more on exercise days) with 2-3 meals with minimal snacks, a focus on low carb with limited simple and refined carbs, sugars and grains as well as minimal processed foods and at least 5,000 steps a day.

Now don’t get me wrong, I've definitely been making better food choices in the last 3 weeks but only about 1/3 to 1/2 of the time and I think that is the biggest problem.

And I’m not saying those other foods are forbidden, they’re just being delegated to special occasions and not something I have daily or even weekly.

I’m starting today which is a Sunday but I’m keeping my weigh-in days on Saturdays so my next weigh-in will be in 7 days.

So I’m starting today at 194 lbs. This puts me at a total loss of 36 lbs since June 2015 and 36.4 lbs away from my lowest weight of 157.6 lbs in May of 2018. My current short-term goal is to get to 190 lbs (short-term goals are in 5 lb increments).

I have a lot of work to do but I’m ready for it and can’t wait to start making some serious progress with both my weight and my health!
